FC Progression Zones

Shadowed Eclipse Fractured Continuum is a guided, linear progression server. The zone order is intentionally strange compared to classic EverQuest: the Continuum is fractured, and places are surfacing out of order. Treat each zone like a chapter in a larger mystery rather than a normal expansion path.

Your home base is Dragonscale B. Before you wander too far, hail the important hub NPCs:

  • Overseer Gakkor Deepscar explains the Lucky Charm / AA charm system, gives the starter charm, and reminds you about #flagcheck and #charm.
  • Dizzy is your zone guide. Say list zones to see available paths, then choose the progression zone you have unlocked.
  • Elondra Aradune handles optional side pursuits such as the pet bag, Cattle Rustlin', and the Power task.

The basic FC loop is simple: enter the correct zone, kill enemies that still grant experience, build essence credit, defeat the required named targets, then challenge the final boss. If a kill gives no experience, it usually will not count for progression, charm essence, or evolving-item credit.

Level Range Zone Chapter / Theme What to Focus On
1-10 Nektulos Chapter 1 - The Listening Dark Start the FC loop, earn 200 essence, complete the seven #flagcheck named targets, recover three spire relics, summon Gynok, and unlock Kaesora.
11-15 Kaesora Chapter 1 - The Withered Archive Earn 200 essence, defeat the seven required archive horrors, then defeat Vampire Lord Chosooth to unlock The Overthere.
16-20 The Overthere Chapter 2 - The Shifting Frontier Earn 200 essence, defeat seven frontier named, then defeat Impaler Tzilug to unlock Guardian.
21-25 The Mechamatic Guardian Chapter 2 - Engine of Miscalculation Earn 300 essence, defeat seven machine named, then clear the Guardian CPU.

Nektulos: Levels 1-10

Nektulos is not just the starter battlefield; it teaches the server's progression language. Kill enemies that give experience until you gather 200 Nektulos essence, then complete the named target checklist shown by #flagcheck. That command is the truth source for your trash count, named kills, and final completion state.

The required Nektulos #flagcheck named targets are:

  • Master Whoopal
  • Missionary of Rodcet
  • Colwind Blackfoot
  • orc runner
  • High Chief Deroslan
  • High Chief Ferilsars
  • High Chief Wasolors

There is also a separate spire-convergence path. The Arcane Observer watches the ruined Combine spires and accepts three relics from the undead holdings:

  • Fractured Spire Sigil
  • Residual Anchor of Unrest
  • Convergence Etching

Hand all three to the Arcane Observer to attune yourself to the Ruined Spires. Once attuned, say ready to summon Gynok Moltor. Defeating Gynok earns access to Kaesora and the title Listener of the Dark.

While you are here, Elondra's pet bag mission also points into Nektulos: the four cloth pieces for The Bag of the Pet come from Nektulos trash. This is optional, but it is a good early side goal while you are already building essence.

Kaesora: Levels 11-15

Kaesora is the second half of Chapter 1. It is a ruined Iksar vault-city full of old routines, trapped knowledge, and things that do not quite understand that their empire is gone. The Ossuary Proclaimer warns that some enemies may have placeholders, and that plain steel may not always be enough; if attacks feel wrong, look for magic-bound arms.

Kaesora requires 200 essence and seven named kills:

  • #Xalgoz
  • #failed_crypt_raider
  • #frenzied_strathbone
  • #hungered_ravener
  • #reaver_of_Xalgoz
  • #strathbone_runelord
  • #tortured_librarian

Once the zone says you have conquered Kaesora's horrors, challenge Vampire Lord Chosooth. Defeating Chosooth unlocks The Overthere and grants the title Archivist of the Withered.

The Overthere: Levels 16-20

The Overthere begins Chapter 2 and opens the world up into a stranger frontier. The same progression rules still apply: kill experience-bearing trash for 200 essence, then hunt the named targets that anchor the zone.

The required Overthere named targets are:

  • #Admiral_Tylix
  • #Captain_Rottgrime
  • #Galdon_Vok_Nir
  • #General_V_Deers
  • #Iron_Guardian
  • #Modani_Qu'Loni
  • #Zorash

Captain Rottgrime is a good example of the zone getting sharper: he has staged combat pressure as the fight goes on. When the frontier checklist is complete, defeat Impaler Tzilug. This unlocks The Mechamatic Guardian and grants the title Warden of the Shifting Frontier.

The Mechamatic Guardian: Levels 21-25

The Mechamatic Guardian is the current end of released Chapter 2 progression. The zone is mechanical, hostile, and more checklist-driven than the earlier areas. Guardian trash requires 300 essence, not 200.

The required Guardian named targets are:

  • #Coleoptera_Assault_Sweeper
  • #Fuzzbert_Cogsworth
  • #Mechano_Sendaii_Dronequeen
  • #Metal_Slime
  • #THE_Destructorior_XOOX
  • #Whirlie_Fizzlebot
  • #Gearlord_Memorantis

When Guardian clearance is complete, the Guardian CPU will allow the final defense protocol to begin. If you are missing clearance, the CPU will deny access and remain protected. Defeating the Guardian CPU grants the title Disruptor of the Engine.

Guardian gear matters beyond this zone: future Drachnid Hive upgrades are planned around finished Guardian pieces, so it is worth keeping the gear you earn here.
